Glass-bodied ionization sensor for high-vacuum measurement from 1.3 × 10−5 to 1.3 × 10−1 Pa with the Meradat-VIT19IT2 or another compatible controller. It must be enabled only after safe preliminary evacuation and protected from overpressure and contamination.
Description

Meradat PMI-2 Ionization Vacuum Sensor
The PMI-2 is a primary ionization transducer for high-vacuum measurement. Electrons ionize residual-gas molecules and the resulting ion current is converted into a pressure value by a compatible controller.
| Measurement principle | Hot-cathode ionization |
|---|---|
| Measurement range | 1.3 × 10−5 to 1.3 × 10−1 Pa |
| Permissible error stated in source record | ±35% from 1.0 × 10−4 to 5.0 × 10−2 Pa; ±50% in the remaining stated regions |
| Compatible controller | Meradat-VIT19IT2 and applicable equivalent instruments |
| Connection | Glass body with 15 mm mushroom-type stem; suitable adapter required |
| Connection cable | KS-PMI2-L, typically 2 m or 5 m; confirm supply scope |
| Suggested automatic enable threshold | Below 0.13 Pa with the recommended thermal-sensor pair |
| Suggested automatic disable threshold | Above 0.27 Pa with the recommended thermal-sensor pair |
| Degassing limit stated in source record | Do not degas above 1.0 × 10−2 Pa |
Enabling an ionization sensor at excessive pressure can sharply reduce filament life. A correctly commissioned thermal channel and hardwired or validated controller logic should prevent unsafe operation. Switch off the ionization channel before venting.
The glass envelope must be protected from shock, bending load and contamination. Pressure readings are gas-dependent, and process-specific correction or calibration may be required.
The technical infographic, video and slide deck from the source page are intentionally omitted. Confirm the adapter, cable, controller revision, automatic protection logic, calibration and replacement-filament policy before ordering.
