Application-specific quadrupole residual-gas analysis system for monitoring insulation spaces, vacuum equipment and gas composition around cryogenic tanks. Mass range, detection limits, sampling system and gas library are selected for the project.
Description
LeakLab QGA for Cryogenic Tank Diagnostics
The LeakLab QGA is a configured quadrupole mass-spectrometer system for analyzing residual gases in vacuum systems and cryogenic-vessel insulation spaces. It can help identify air ingress, water vapor, hydrocarbons and tracer gases when the sampling method and mass range are properly selected.
Typical system scope
- Quadrupole analyzer and ion source matched to the required mass range
- High-vacuum pumping, isolation valves and pressure measurement
- Pressure-reduction or capillary inlet for the defined sampling pressure
- Control software, trend recording and project-specific mass library
- Reference-gas and helium response checks where required
A quadrupole residual-gas analyzer does not automatically provide a calibrated total leak rate or prove tank integrity. Quantitative helium testing requires a validated inlet, calibration method, reference standard and acceptance criterion. LNG or other flammable-gas service also requires a formal hazardous-area and sampling-safety design.
Final mass range, sensitivity, resolution, pressure limits, materials, pump package, exhaust routing and enclosure rating are contractual project parameters.
