Assumptions and use
Use steady conditions, a representative pressure measurement and the pumping speed for the actual gas. This calculation does not separate leakage from desorption or process gas. A changed valve position, line conductance or pump state invalidates a simple baseline subtraction.
Worked example
At p = 0.005 Pa, p₀ = 0 and 2000 L/s, the additional load is 0.01 Pa·m³/s.
Record the units, gas, temperature, background and instrument settings with every result. Confirm the model assumptions before applying a calculated limit to a real test.
