Description
GELIT-1 Calibrated Helium Leak with state metrological verification
The sensitivity of a leak-testing system is checked using a GELIT-1 helium reference leak included in the Russian Federation State Register of Measuring Instruments. This reference gas-flow measure is subject to annual verification.
GELIT-1 gas-flow measures are used as reference standards for calibrating helium leak detectors during leak-tightness testing. They are supplied for leak-tightness class II under GOST R 50.05.01-2018, covering 5 × 10−10 to 5 × 10−9 Pa·m3/s, and for class III, covering 5 × 10−9 to 5 × 10−7 Pa·m3/s.
Purpose of a Helium Reference Leak
Helium reference leaks provide a stable, controlled helium flow for calibration and performance checks of helium leak detectors. This traceable reference allows a detector to quantify very small leaks reliably.
GELIT-1 is available in two versions that differ in leak-tightness class and flow range. Class II covers lower flows for detecting smaller leaks, while class III is intended for higher flows. The products are manufactured to the applicable GOST requirements.
Leak-tightness class | Maximum permissible air-leak flow through the test object at operating pressure, Pa·m3/s |
I | 6.7 × 10−11 to 6.7 × 10−10 |
II | 6.7 × 10−10 to 6.7 × 10−9 |
III | 6.7 × 10−9 to 6.7 × 10−7 |
IV | 6.7 × 10−7 to 6.7 × 10−6 |
V | 6.7 × 10−6 to 6.7 × 10−4 |
