Custom test-chamber concept for helium leak testing of seals and flanged assemblies under controlled temperature and internal pressure. Chamber rating, thermal range, pressure circuit, detector and safety architecture are defined from the test specification.
Description
Thermal-Vacuum Chamber for Seal and Flange Leak Testing
This engineered system exposes a test assembly to a controlled temperature while its internal circuit is pressurized with a tracer gas and the surrounding chamber is evacuated for helium measurement.
Typical subsystems
- Rated vacuum chamber with test-fixture feedthroughs
- Heating, cooling or thermal shielding with multi-point temperature measurement
- Pressure-rated tracer-gas circuit, regulation, isolation and relief
- Roughing and high-vacuum pumping with pressure instrumentation
- Helium leak detector, reference leak and data-acquisition system
- Interlocked control cabinet and test-report generation
The previous page presented example values as though they described a standard machine. Useful volume, temperature range, pressure, vacuum level, leak-rate threshold, power and cycle time are project parameters and require mechanical, thermal, vacuum and safety calculations.
Design and acceptance standards are selected for the customer, test object and country. Pressure-boundary protection, guarding and emergency functions must be independent of measurement software.
